Every liquid mask on your shelf is mostly water, which means it also needs preservatives, thickeners and a heavy plastic tub to survive the trip to you. We took the water out. What's left is the active part - six plants, ground fine, sealed fresh, in a sachet you activate yourself.

How to Use +

Use 1x weekly or whenever your roots need a reset/deep cleanse. Empty sachet into a bowl. Add 2-3 tbsp water/youghurt/our Scalp Primer pre-wash treatment and mix until smooth and spreadable. Apply to scalp and hair on hair wash days. Leave it on 20-30 mins or until mask is completely dry. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with usual shampoo routine.

How is this different from a clarifying shampoo? +

A clarifying shampoo strips everything, including the oils your scalp actually needs, and it does it in ninety seconds. Root Reset sits on the scalp for twenty minutes and lifts buildup with herbs rather than harsh surfactants. Clarifying shampoos leave you squeaky. This leaves you clean.

Will this dry out my hair? +

No. Shikakai cleanses without sulphates, and aloe and marshmallow root are in the formula specifically so that clearing buildup doesn't leave your scalp tight or your lengths straw-like. Most people find their conditioner works better afterwards.

Is it messy? +

Less than you'd think. Mix it in a small bowl, apply with your fingers or a tint brush, and clip your hair up. It's a smooth paste, not a drippy liquid. Do it in the bathroom and rinse the bowl - that's the whole cleanup.

Can I use it with the Scalp Primer? +

Yes, absolutely! Since it's a liquid activated hair mask - it's the routine we'd recommend. Add few drops of our Scalp Primer to the mask in a bowl, add water/yoghurt and mix it well for best results.

Is it safe to use Root Reset for colour-treated or chemically-treated hair? +

Yes. No sulphates, no bleaching agents, no synthetic actives. As with anything new, we recommend a patch test before first use.

How often should I use it? +

Once a week or when your hair needs a deep scalp detox. That's the whole idea - one Sunday, one sachet. You can go twice a week if you have a particularly oily scalp or a heavy workout routine, but weekly is where most people land.

What does it smell like? +

Earthy and herbal - it smells like the plants that are in it, because that's all that's in it. No fragrance has been added and the scent rinses out completely.

Will one sachet if Root Reset be enough for my hair? +

One 10g sachet is formulated to cover a full scalp. If your hair is very long or very thick and if you want to apply on hair length as well, you may prefer to use one and a half - which is another reason the 6-pack is the more practical buy.

How long do they last unopened? +

24 months. There's no water in the sachet, so there's nothing to spoil.

Do I use Root Reset before or after shampoo? +

Before. Always before. It's a pre-wash hair mask - rinse it out, then shampoo as normal.
